The HP Color LaserJet Pro M252 and M277 MFP have print speeds OEM-rated at 18 pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black-and-white printing, and a duty cycle rated at up to 30,000 pages per month.

Canon offers its own equivalent models, including the imageCLASS® LBP-612, i-SENSYS® LBP-635 and several others, with print specifications comparable to the HP models.

The HP supplies set is made up of 4 all-in-one JetIntelligence® toner cartridges. Replacement color toner cartridges are available in 1,400 page standard and 2,300 page high yield versions. Replacement black cartridges are available in 1,500 page standard and 2,800 page extra high yield versions. The Canon supplies have similar yields, and all of the toner cartridges require a chip for the printer to operate correctly.

Note: The M252 family cartridges are different than traditional color HP cartridges, as they have a toner packet (a filled and sealed bag of toner) that holds the toner in place and is attached to the agitator shaft. When the agitator shaft is rotated by the printer, the seal is pulled and stays attached, acting as the agitator paddle.

It is recommended that the replacement doctor blade shim be used in order to achieve optimal performance when remanufacturing these cartridges.
